FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Pricing, data, and what Punji will and won't do for you.
Is Punji a brokerage or an investment advisor?
No. Punji is a research and educational product. We are not a SEBI-registered investment advisor and we don't execute trades or place orders. Punji tells you what you own and how it behaves — the decision, and any advice you need, stays with you or a qualified professional.
What does Punji cost?
Punji Free is ₹0 — it includes 50 chat/MCP queries a day and full Portfolio Doctor analysis (overlap, trim candidates, tax harvest, benchmark gap, and more) on one PAN. Consumer Pro is ₹20,000/year (GST-inclusive) and adds unlimited chat/MCP queries, unlimited CAS uploads, and analysis across up to 4 family PANs.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
It's not analysis depth — every Portfolio Doctor analysis is available on Free. The difference is scale: Free covers 1 PAN with daily query limits; Pro covers up to 4 PANs (self + family) with unlimited chat/MCP and portfolio-aware tools inside AI clients like Claude Desktop.
Do I need to upload my CAS to use Punji?
Not to get started. Portfolio X-Ray gives you a free, no-CAS-required first look. Uploading your Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) unlocks the full Portfolio Doctor analysis — overlap, risk, tax harvest opportunities, and more — and CAS upload itself is always free and unlimited, on both plans.
How much fund data does Punji actually have?
20+ years of Indian fund and market history, covering 1,000+ equity schemes, refreshed nightly from AMFI, NSE, BSE, and AMC sources — across 26 research endpoints.
Can I ask Punji questions from Claude or another AI client?
Yes — Punji ships an MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration, so you can ask portfolio questions directly from Claude Desktop and similar clients. On Consumer Pro, MCP tools become portfolio-aware (portfolio value, allocation, tax-harvest opportunities, benchmark gap, SIP summary).
Will Punji tell me which fund to buy?
No, by design. Punji surfaces attributes — overlap, cost drag, risk, consistency, benchmark performance — but never says "Fund A is better than Fund B" or predicts future returns. The comparison and the decision are yours.
What is the Portfolio Scorecard?
A free, single-page summary of your portfolio's key metrics — value, allocation, overlap score, SIP efficiency, and a risk label — generated automatically once you upload a CAS. It's shareable via a public link with no personal information exposed.
I'm an advisor or building a fintech product — does Punji offer an API?
Yes. The Data API gives programmatic access to scheme metadata, NAV history, holdings, and peer rankings (free tier: 50 calls/day, paid tiers metered). The Embed SDK lets you white-label Punji's chat and analysis surfaces inside your own product. Advisor and API pricing is quote-based — reach out and we'll talk specifics.
Can I cancel or get a refund on Consumer Pro?
Subscriptions run for the full annual term with no mid-term cancellation or refund. At the end of the term, your account drops back to Free rather than auto-renewing into another charge.
What are Punji's data privacy and sharing practices?
We don't sell or share your personal portfolio data — your CAS, holdings, and PAN exist only to power your own analyses. Separately, the Data API sells programmatic access to public/aggregate market data (scheme metadata, NAV history, category rankings) to advisors and fintechs — that's market data, not your personal information. Sign-in uses Google OAuth, so we never create or store a separate Punji password for you.
How do I get in touch if I have a question that's not here?
